18 Month Check Up

I took this picture of Kaitrynn at her 18 month check up. She loved to listen to her own heart. As she gets older and understands how the heart beats, it will be fun to teach her how hers is different sounding. She has a special heart and body all the way around.
Kaitrynn will be going back tomorrow to PMCH for a 24 hour stay. She is having a PH Probe test done. This is when they place a tube up her nose and down her esophagus and have it rest on the top of her stomach. This will see how much stomach acid she is producing?? She is still up all night at times on and off like last night. This will tell us if she is aspirating into her lungs and causing Chronic Lung Disease. A Dr. informed me last week that she may have this. This test will narrow down a few things so we can get this 19 month old feeling Normal. How would it be for her to feel normal? I don't know? Pray for her this week and we will keep you updated!!

I have always had a love for photography. Those of you who know me? I never leave home with out my camera. I was able to get a new camera. I out grew my point and shoot camera. I was able to get a Sony A 300. It is a SLR. I have had so.... much fun with it. I love that I am able to capture the coolest moments with it. I did a lot of research before purchasing my new one. My sister Tobey helped me with the best options. I am looking for models to take photos of their children. Any Takers?

Easter Sunday 2009

We had a wonderful Easter this year. I always look forward to Easter in so many ways. My Grandma use to make my sister and I matching Easter dresses. I always look forward to dressing my girls up each year in dresses, it just reminds me of when I was little. Brooklynn chose to wear her baptism dress for Easter. It was fun to find one for the Peanut that would match. I am grateful for both of them and their willingness to be the great girls that they are.

The Pump or NOT the Pump

Kaitrynn has been back on her feeding tube pump for almost 2 weeks now. In the long term aspect of things it has help with weight gain. She is now up to 20lbs 3oz. Great news! There are downfalls with it though. The three letter word GAS GAS GAS ! Unpleasant GAS so, much that she is up 2 to 3 hours trying to pass it. She is fine during the day, but at night is when she is on the pump and when it comes. The point of the tube is to give her motility in her gut and put weight on. Yesterday I had finally had enough :~). I called the doctors in total tears pleading for relief of this pain that my baby is experiencing. She called PMCH and spoke with someone who said that ADIVAN works well with pain and it helps the little ones to relax and sleep. Nobody in Bountiful had the drug in liquid form. After calling around at 7:00 at night I found it at Walgreen's in Kaysville. I loaded up the kids and we were off. I have had Kait on soy milk the last few days too thinking that she may have an allergy to the lactose in the milk. We get to the pharmacy and drop the script off. Before I can get to my Moms house, Kait has pooped her pants and it has gotten all over her and her car seat. Brooklynn then informs me that she is smearing it all over her face and car seat. My mom lives 4 minutes from the pharmacy. Could my day get any worse I thought. Thanks to my Mom she helped me bathe her. We get home about 9:00 pm and give her the Adivan. This is a drug that is suppose to work with in a few minutes to about 45 minutes later. 2 1/2 hours later Kait finally falls asleep. She then woke up at 4:00 am with the awful gas. I took her off the pump to relieve the pain and discomfort. Today I received a new button to try. It is called the Mikey Button. You can hopefully vent this button when the gas is present. Wish me luck tonight that it works. As for giving her the Adivan tonight? My Doctor was out of the office today. the nurse said not to give it to her tonight. She can have worse adverse effects? Great I am calling Benedryl to the rescue for tonight? Hopefully this house will get some sleep tonight???????
