Thanks Secret Santa

Tonight the girls and I went out to do a little service for our neighbor. She is in the same shoes I was in 3 yrs ago. A baby with severe reflux and won't take a Binkie. We were not gone even 30 minutes. The Girls and I come home to find a package at our door. We couldn't come home and make the girls not open it. IF I was alone I would have been able to hide it from them. I didn't think to get my camera out till after.
Thanks, who ever you were from the bottom of our hearts! They loved the gifts can you tell? Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends! We love you all!!

Sacrament Meeting With Thomas S. Monson

We had a great thing happen to start off our week. Let me back track a little. The Doctors have advised us to keep Kaitrynn home from Church and places with large groups of people, so she can stay healthy. She seems to have a low immune system. We have been keeping her home and since the end of September from those places and she has been one healthy girl. We are so grateful for that! I have to admit it feels funny not going to the Dr. all the time. Hey I am not complaining one bit.
This past Sunday I stayed home with Kaitrynn and Brennen took Brooklynn to church. Brennen texts me to inform me that President Thomas S. Monson was on his way to spend the sacrament meeting in our ward. WOW!!! I was jealous I have to admit, but I quickly reminded myself that I was home doing what I was suppose to be doing. The prophet's Daughter Shari Dibbs, Son Bought a home in our ward about 8 months ago. I had no idea the relation when I heard their name. Anyway they blessed there new baby on Sunday!
Brennen was asked by one of his security guards to be an Usher. He was able to shake President Monson's hand twice that day. Brooklynn was able to watch him get out of his car. She thought that was pretty cool. He gave his testimony at the end of the meeting.
When Brooklynn got home she came into my room and I asked her how it was? She had a huge smile on her face and her eyes as size as quarters and said Mom that was so WICKED ( that 's a cool word for AWESOME). She was laughing and crying as she was telling me that. She came and gave me a hug and cried and said what A neat experience it was. She was filled over filled with the spirit it was neat for a Mom to see! Later that afternoon she said Mom did that really happen today it felt like it was a "Dream it doesn't seem real". I am so grateful for the gospel for the chance we have to have experiences like this in our lives.

Immunologist Update on Kait

We went yesterday for a follow up with Dr. Jones. He was concerned on some blood work that had been done at 3 months of age. He was concerned with the function of her T cell. Also her red blood cells appear smaller than they should be. He went ahead and had a blood draw once again yesterday. Poor little Kaitrynn knows what is coming before we get there. The thing that is concerning to him is her MCV (when you do a CBC). The past blood draw they were low and they continue to be low! Will have to see what the test come back like next week. We are waiting for the rest of the results next week. Some of this could also be genetic or from her heart condition she was born with. Faith is so hard at times or do I say patience!!!

Poor Kaitrynn one thing after another

All I have to say is that she is a trooper!!! She woke up 2 nights ago with a fever. She ended up in the ER last night! She has some kind of infection in her body! It wasn't apparent to them where? All the blood work indicated was infection. They gave her fluids and some IV antibiotics and sent us home. We had to follow up with our DR. today! They are waiting for the blood tests to grow to see what the infection is. The preliminary test show E. Coli, but we will have to see if that grows more. She had a high white band count at 21. She is doing much.... better today, but will have to stay on an antibiotic through the weekend until we know what kind of infection she had. We may not know where it was. All I know is she was so... sick and it hit her fast and hard. The Dr. today is refereeing me to another specialist that deals with immune Systems. We shall see what that holds in store for us!!!

Kaitrynn turned 3

This is the only good photo I got of Kaitrynn on her birthday! I used a different camera and it failed me. She had a wonderful birthday! Thanks, to all those who were able to come and party it up with us!!!! She is doing well! she will have her staples out tomorrow morning! Her stomach has seemed to heal really well. The mysterious stomach pain that has been her trial since birth seems to be subsiding a little. We are on two nights in a row with out stomach pain!!!!!!!!! This is a huge milestone for Kaitrynn yesterday! She actually sat down for the first time and ate all three meals for the day. We have had a real struggle getting her to eat the last 3 years! That's why we had to implement the G- tube! She wakes up every morning and asks for a bowl of cereal first thing! I am so glad that she is eating and is thriving !!!!! All my hard work is paying off YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are home!!!!!!!!

Kaitrynn had her surgery today and was able to come home. They didn't have to keep her in the hospital overnight!!! YEAH!!!! They sent her home on pain medications and an antibiotic. She had 2 staples at the sight. Those will be removed on the 25th of this month!!! Grateful all went well today!! Thanks, for all the thoughts and prayers~!

Come What May and LOVE It!!!!!!!!

Life has been very interesting to say the least for our little Kaitrynn. We are heading in for surgery this morning. We took out the feeding tube (G-tube) back in
February of this year! It has been 7 months and it hasn't healed all the way. At times the tube leaks and stomach acid gets on her skin etc... They will go in at 1o this morning and have the procedure done. She will have to stay in the hospital overnight, since they are sewing shut a major organ in her body. She was given a priesthood blessing last night and so, did the Mom. I am grateful for the opportunity that God has given me the chance to raise her and be her earthly Mother despite the obstacles. She is a special spirit. I love both of my girls so much!!! I will update later today!!!!!!

Horse Riding Lessons

Brooklynn has had the opportunity this summer to have horse riding lessons. Kaitrynn goes to watch her ride. She insisted riding on that horse. She would say "Brooklynn off horse my turn." I didn't know how she would respond to that big horse as she says. The trainer said that little girls are more likely to get on a horse and be fine then little boys. Kaitrynn is only 2 1/2 yrs old. Well the photo shows the outcome of the day. Brooklynn is becoming a real pro. She has her own horse up in Logan at my Parents land. She needs some practice and she has many fun rides this winter on her horse Dollar in Logan.

RSV UPDATE ON KAIT

I couldn't have made it through today with out the help of family and Medical professionals. I love my family all so much! Thanks, for all of you that have checked up on sweet baby Kait. I never imagined RSV to be this bad. We aren't even admitted to the hospital and this little bug is so.. sick. After going through this you want your kids to live in a bubble! I took her back to the Dr. today. She not only has RSV she also has an ear infection in her left ear. Around lunch time today she seemed to take a small turn of events. We took her up and the Dr. said she is looking better then the other day! I don't see it as the MOM? Her stats were 85, but she was hydrated and things, so she is home barking like a dog with her cough. We tool her G- tube (Feeding tube) out a month tomorrow. All has been healing well until now. She has been coughing, so hard that she has opened the wound up again from coughing. They said at the Dr's at PMCH to start the healing process again. Kids that get really sick after, this sometimes happens. She has been a real trooper through it all. I had Bridgette from CNS Pharmacy come tonight and help me dress her wound, so it can heal quickly. Grandma Wosnik came and spent the afternoon with us. I told Kaitrynn that Grandma was going to bring her a present? Kaitrynn looked at me and said MELMO? (ELMO). I said no! She brought her a really cute dress! When Grandma got here she told Grandma that Melmo would make her feel better. Of course Grandma's do the magic right? Grandma went out and got her this Melmo Medical Kit. The rest is history as you can see. She loved it she even fell asleep with it!. Let's hope she gets a better night sleep tonight for us all!

RSV RSV RSV SO SAD

My baby Kate has come down with the dreadful RSV virus. There is nothing that they can do for her. She just has to wade it out. Poor thing she is just miserable. You shed the RSV virus a few days before you get the fever. We were at our friends house the day before her 4 year old Kate came down with a 105 degree fever. I haven't seen her this sick since she was in the hospital at 4 weeks with the group B Strep! I am keeping her hydrated and alternating the Tylenol and Ibuprofen every 4 hours! Wish her well for a speedy recovery!
